HANA Cloud Senior Performance Engineer

SAP HANA is an in-memory database and data management platform. SAP HANA Cloud is the database as a service (DBaaS) offering based on SAP HANA. We run on Intel x86 and aarch64 platforms. There is a long-standing relationship with an Intel on-site engineering team. We are looking for talented individuals to help with Intel x86-specific optimizations.

Your role

• Perform explorative performance and root cause analysis in the context of the SAP HANA database.
• Assist in finding Intel x86-specific optimization potential.
• Compare performance results between platforms.
• Develop proof-of-concept code changes.
• Build and extend analysis tools.
• Collaborate with the Intel on-site team.

Your profile

Required skills:

• Ability to analyze and debug complex problems.
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Excellent knowledge of Intel x86 architecture specifics.
• Track record of using profiling tools such as perf and VTune to analyze performance issues.
• Good C++ skills.
• Verbal and written working proficiency in English.

Preferred skills:

• Knowledge of RDBMS.
• Experience with the aarch64 platform.
• Python programming experience.
