Job Overview

Mercedes-Benz Assignment Services Americas (MBASA) is a shared service global organization managing expatriate programs across the Americas. The Global Payroll Specialist – Global Reporting and Banking ensures accurate, complete and effective presentation of payroll processing information and has sole responsibility for banking activities related to EURO payout processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly operations in the US and Canada: Generate timely domestic and global payroll reports and deliver end-to-end payroll information to Accounting, Tax, Benefits, Treasury, global payroll management and payroll providers.
  • Run reporting corrections, including supplemental general ledger and payroll output file corrections.
  • Respond to variance reports and white spot tracker queries from EY and Deloitte.
  • Review and approve Canada monthly payrolls and related tax-payment activities.
  • Ensure Canada provincial obligation payments are approved and processed.
  • Own the EURO banking currency split process for Canada inbound payments and the US, from assignee questions through payout setup, Dayforce transfers and Deutsche Bank payment instructions.
  • Deliver Deutsche Bank statement reports to Accounting and generate the EUR payout split positions report for EY and Deloitte.
  • Annual and on-demand activities: Perform hypo-tax calculations and updates, monitor payroll-related company notifications, execute internal controls, coordinate evidence for the annual ICS self-assessment and support annual payroll activities such as phantom shares, bonuses and merit increases.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or Tax.
  • Experience with US payroll tax regulations and international payroll.
  • Experience executing internal controls preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree, with an emphasis in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Tax.
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • High numerical aptitude and ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong sense of urgency, results orientation, organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
