Tasks
- Design and develop automotive energy systems, including fuel, brake, and hydraulic lines for passenger cars.
- Develop hydraulic line concepts considering packaging, manufacturing, tooling, assembly, materials, coatings, torque, tolerance, testing, and global certification requirements.
- Apply knowledge of joining technologies, quick connectors, end forms, and leak-proof methodologies.
- Design tubes and piping, sheet metal, and plastic parts.
- Lead concept development programs and handle global programs independently from India.
- Work with and steer suppliers to ensure timely development against project milestones.
- Use Siemens NX for part design, surface design, drawings, product lifecycle tools, and GD&T.
- Manage documentation and release processes using PDM / Smaragd.
- Travel outside India on short notice when required.
- Release and document hydraulic lines in PLM according to the project cycle.
- Participate in project meetings, track milestones, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Analyze problems, propose solutions, plan and prioritize work, and support team and project goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in automotive energy systems, fuel, brake, and hydraulic lines design and development for passenger cars.
- Additional knowledge of engine and battery cooling lines is advantageous.
- At least one year of experience with Siemens NX Part Design, Surface Design, Drawings, product lifecycle tools, and GD&T.
- Experience with international projects and multicultural environments is desirable.
- Strong independent working, teamwork, planning, execution, and supplier-management skills.
