About the role

Primark is seeking a Forecast Analyst to support the Phase 1 Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) project, helping transform forecasting, replenishment and stock decisions across depots and stores. Acting as a forecasting subject matter expert, the role will own forecasting activity across the pilot, using analytical and commercial judgement to interpret and challenge system-generated forecasts.

Working closely with business teams, Data Science, Product and the solution vendor, the analyst will help shape future forecasting processes and decision-making while developing expertise as an early SRO superuser.

What you’ll get

This is a hybrid opportunity, offering 2–3 days working from the office. Benefits include 27 days of leave plus bank holidays, the option to buy five additional days, Tax Saver Tickets, access to a fitness centre and a subsidised cafeteria.

What you’ll do as Forecast Analyst

  • Own end-to-end forecasting across products, stores and workflows, ensuring effective delivery throughout the SRO pilot.
  • Analyse and challenge forecast outputs, identifying unusual patterns, risks and exceptions while applying strong trading and commercial judgement.
  • Investigate and resolve forecasting issues, partnering with Data Science, Data Governance, Product and vendor teams to identify root causes and drive solutions.
  • Collaborate with Buying & Merchandising, Retail, Planning & Space and Supply Chain to ensure forecasts support commercial and operational priorities.
  • Shape and validate the future forecasting solution through design sessions, testing and process validation, helping define scalable workflows, governance, decision rights and escalation routes.
  • Become an SRO forecasting superuser, building deep system expertise, capturing pilot insights and supporting training, user readiness, adoption and future rollout phases.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in forecasting, merchandising, planning, allocation, supply chain or commercial analysis within a retail environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data, identify key trends and translate insights into clear commercial actions.
  • Strong understanding of customer demand, forecasting, stock management and trading performance.
  • Ability to investigate performance issues, identify root causes and confidently challenge system outputs using data and commercial insight.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make sound decisions.
  • Experience with forecasting systems, retail transformation or technology implementation is advantageous.
