Position Summary

The Fleet Manager is responsible for selecting suitable vehicles and maintaining them so the company can provide an efficient service at minimal cost. The role covers four-door vehicles only; trucks and forklifts are outside its jurisdiction.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of drivers and vehicles in accordance with HEINEKEN transportation standards.
  • Participate in selecting vehicle purchases and equipment.
  • Supervise the sale and/or auction of used vehicles.
  • Prepare reports on fleet expenses and performance for management.
  • Prepare a budget for the company's fleet management department and present it to management for review and approval.
  • Ensure company compliance with government transportation regulations.
  • Keep vehicles ready and available for orders by establishing schedules and monitoring industry trends to support forecasting.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and conduct regular inspections.
  • Participate in workshops and/or programs to stay current with industry trends.
  • Control fuel purchases by administering fuel cards for all vehicles and their assigned drivers to regulate costs and expenses.
  • Supervise pool drivers.

Required Qualifications

Education and experience:

  • University degree in logistics, mechanics, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in a vehicle-related position, telematics systems management, or a similar role.

Other required skills:

  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to prepare and monitor a budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Good organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
