Tasks

Shape the future of Product Lifecycle Management at Mercedes-Benz through PLM.AI, an enterprise-wide transformation of product data usage, engineering decisions, processes, and AI-enabled ways of working.

As part of the Change Management & Transformation team, you will ensure that PLM.AI is understood, accepted, applied, and sustainably embedded across the organization.

  • Develop and implement the PLM.AI change and transformation strategy in a complex international environment.
  • Analyze cross-functional impacts on processes, roles, responsibilities, capabilities, and collaboration, and derive strategic recommendations and concrete measures.
  • Translate complex PLM and technical content into understandable change models, target visions, and decision-making materials.
  • Work with Journey teams, Fundamentals, PLM and business architecture, IT, specialist departments, and external partners.
  • Analyze PLM, engineering, and data-management processes across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Work on Product Structure, Part Management, Engineering Change, Approval, Validity Control, Bill of Material, variant logic, Digital Thread, and data quality.
  • Assess EBOM, MBOM, SBOM, Configuration Management, release processes, and Digital Mock-Up for integrated product development.
  • Evaluate new technologies and AI-market developments for their value in PLM and engineering.
  • Develop responsible and effective AI use cases for better decisions, faster processes, improved data quality, and new ways of working.
  • Support leaders, teams, and users in transitioning to an AI-first way of working.
  • Design scalable enablement formats such as workshops, learning journeys, communities, and multiplier networks.
  • Identify resistance and uncertainty, develop targeted interventions, and create alignment between business and IT.
  • Design and drive readiness, adoption, acceptance, and impact measurements.
  • Analyze results, make progress and risks transparent, and derive concrete actions for leadership, communication, enablement, and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Excellent degree with IT content.
  • Several years of experience in demanding PLM, engineering, digitalization, or transformation initiatives, ideally in automotive or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management, Product Data Management, or Engineering Data Management and experience with established PLM systems.
  • Practical knowledge of several areas including EBOM, MBOM, SBOM, variant configuration, engineering change, configuration management, release processes, Digital Thread, data quality, process harmonization, PLM operating models, or governance.
  • Experience with global or international PLM, engineering, or digital transformations and change management, adoption, or enablement in technical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience introducing, scaling, or adopting AI, GenAI, or Copilot solutions in engineering, product development, or knowledge-work environments.
  • Experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, knowledge retrieval, or digital engineering assistants is an advantage.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Additional languages and international experience are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, strategic, communication, stakeholder-management, and implementation skills.
  • International perspective, openness, intercultural competence, and the courage to challenge established ways of thinking.
