Expert Designer, Basketball Footwear Product Design, Global Jordan

NIKE, Inc. is seeking an Expert Designer, Footwear for Jordan Basketball, responsible for new-creation design for Jordan Brand performance footwear. This role works directly with professional athletes to design signature and non-signature basketball footwear.

What You Will Work On

• Apply knowledge of lateral sport performance, construction, manufacturing, business, and design needs to advance Jordan Basketball footwear.
• Understand basketball subcultures and provide a distinctive point of view from trends and competitors.
• Travel to meet athletes, sometimes on short notice, and regularly travel to overseas Product Creation Centers multiple times per year.

Who You Will Work With

Collaborate daily with Materials Design, Color Design, and Graphic Design to create concepts reviewed by the Design Leadership Team. Lead cross-functional teams in maintaining a clear, holistic design point of view while managing feedback and stakeholder needs.

Work closely with the Design Director to create model and seasonal design direction that expands on the seasonal creative vision from the Senior Director. Mentor product design teammates, model creative excellence, and foster an inclusive, feedback-oriented team environment.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in product design or a relevant design degree, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear products.
• Experience working with a signature athlete; basketball experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with 3D design programs is a plus.
• Strong ideation, styling, sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
• Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus.
• AI exploration and rendering abilities are a plus.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions.
• Positive attitude, energy, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
