Objective of job

Development and validation of functional safety concepts and requirements for automotive systems.

Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
System-level requirement breakdown and process follow-up
Specification of Safety Goals
Development of Functional Safety Concepts
Verification and validation to ensure that safety requirements are correctly implemented and effective
Safety Case and Release

Act as the central contact person for functional safety topics in global cooperation or China-specific development projects.

Serve as the first contact in the China market, responsible for solving functional-safety-related problems in development, production, and the aftersales market.

Work globally with Mercedes-Benz R&D China, R&D Germany Headquarters, MBRDI India, Mercedes-Benz plants, and external suppliers.

Define technical specifications for future drivetrain software functions.

Qualifications

Education

Study background in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

Graduates with an automotive background and at least 3–5 years of subsequent work experience at OEMs or suppliers
Experience with functional safety in drive systems
Familiarity with functional safety standard ISO 26262 and multiple project experiences compliant with ISO 26262
Fluent English language skills; German language skills are beneficial
Familiarity with automotive system architectures, the safety lifecycle, and hazard analysis
Computer skills including Microsoft Office, safety analysis software, and requirements management tools
