Purpose

Key player in Sourcing in driving Sourcing’s vision to be the Most Agile, Most Competitive, Most Digitalized & Cleanest Supply Base in the industry. The Director of Planning and Business Development serves as the strategic architect connecting Sourcing Operations with the commercial growth engines of North America and Latin America, transforming operational capacity into a competitive advantage and ensuring that the sourcing footprint is agile, scalable, and synchronized with goals across NCAM countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent Sourcing Allocation & Planning in key processes and systems related to strategic initiatives, including FPS and TRANSFORM.
  • Collaborate with GPS, PD, BU Planning, Sourcing Operations, and S&P to ensure cohesive process architecture.
  • Lead planning teams in partner groups and OCs, ensuring expected responsibilities and company standards are met.
  • Own availability KPI performance and use the SPIKE framework to drive performance.
  • Orchestrate between Sales/Business Development and Sourcing Operations to ensure new market demands are feasible within current or planned supply infrastructure.
  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities in North and Latin America through analysis of market trends, trade shifts, and competitive landscapes.
  • Develop business cases for new product categories or regional expansion aligned with financial and operational goals.
  • Assess supplier scalability and maintain a heat map of supplier capabilities, technical limitations, and production capacity across NCAM.
  • Design and oversee regional supply-demand synchronization plans for seasonal peaks and long-term growth.
  • Promote supply-chain regionalization to reduce landed costs and lead times, leveraging agreements such as USMCA and CAFTA and local incentives in LAM.
  • Present quarterly strategic reviews to executive leadership regarding regional business growth and supplier performance.
  • Evaluate geopolitical and economic risks and develop contingency sourcing plans.
  • Develop and coach the team, build succession plans, drive engagement, and foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with project management in consumer-goods manufacturing, planning processes, supply chain, and demand planning.
  • Familiarity with S&OP and Integrated Business Planning processes.
  • Data analytics and forecasting, business development, holistic and systems thinking.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Strong MS Office and leadership skills, with the ability to lead multidimensional teams.

Education and Experience

  • University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related area, or relevant expert work experience.
  • A related master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant business experience and 3+ years of people-management experience.
