As Director Global Continuous Improvement, you will lead the strategy, governance, and deployment of Continuous Improvement across adidas’ global distribution network, covering both owned and outsourced operations.
The role is responsible for driving operational excellence through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, standardized ways of working, performance management, capability building, and sustainable transformation initiatives across all distribution centers. This includes ownership of Continuous Improvement standards, tools, training, certification programs, and governance models.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the adidas Performance Ecosystem framework, global toolbox, and distribution center maturity assessment tool.
- Coach operations and distribution leadership to adopt and sustain performance and continuous improvement practices.
- Define annual efficiency targets and site improvement plans with operations and finance.
- Drive continuous improvement roadmaps across adidas distribution centers and third-party logistics partners.
- Establish a cross-regional community of Lean and Continuous Improvement experts.
- Develop Lean Ambassadors and deploy improvement culture on the operations floor.
- Develop and deploy certified Continuous Improvement and operational excellence training programs.
- Own global productivity metrics and identify opportunities for process redesign and efficiency improvements.
- Engage industry experts, suppliers, and other partners to develop innovation roadmaps.
- Act as a strategic advisor on distribution network initiatives and transformation projects.
- Build and develop the organization, future talent, succession plans, and leadership capabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Lean/Six Sigma expertise with Black Belt or equivalent certification required.
- Experience leading operational transformation and Continuous Improvement programs at regional or global scale.
- Strategic thinking, complex data synthesis, and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment and travel as required.
- Fluent English and strong Microsoft Office skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year college or university degree focused on Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in leadership and managing remote teams.
- Minimum 4+ years applying Lean and Continuous Improvement concepts.
- Strong distribution center process experience, ideally including at least five years as a DC lead.
- Sound understanding of warehouse management systems and labor management systems.
