Who you’ll work with
You will join Nike’s Supply Chain & Planning Technology Engineering team within Supply, Sourcing & Manufacturing, leading development of supply and materials planning, costing, sourcing, factory floor, product integrity, procurement, and supplier collaboration platforms at Nike’s India Technology Center.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering in Bengaluru, India, to establish and grow Nike’s engineering and product presence at the India Technology Center. The successful candidate will be a strong people leader who can develop talent, build new teams, foster cross-cultural partnerships, and lead agile teams delivering scalable platforms, data foundations, and user applications.
Key qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience leading Engineering Managers and large engineering organizations.
- Deep expertise in global supply chain applications and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale production software systems.
- Strong background in serverless architectures and Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
- DevOps experience with continuous integration and delivery, GitHub, and distributed applications.
- Proficiency with Java, React, Node.js, Visual Basic, .NET, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, Amazon S3, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Amazon CloudWatch and Azure Application Insights.
- Experience building or leading artificial intelligence and machine learning-driven supply chain applications.
- Ability to guide responsible use of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
- Strong systems thinking and executive-level communication skills.
What you’ll work on
- Lead Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, and senior technical leaders across multiple teams.
- Partner with product and business leaders to shape requirements, priorities, and tradeoffs.
- Establish and lead a technology delivery organization that innovates and delivers at scale.
- Own delivery, reliability, and evolution of mission-critical enterprise resource planning and supply chain platforms.
- Drive architectural alignment across cloud, serverless, data, and application teams.
- Establish DevOps practices, GitHub workflows, and production support models.
- Lead AI and machine learning initiatives for supply chain planning and decision-making.
- Oversee vendor and extended-team delivery.
- Build effective leadership and delivery rhythms across United States and India sites.
- Serve as incident lead for high-severity production incidents.
- Improve delivery, reliability, cost, observability, and team health metrics.
