Sopra Steria is a major European technology company specializing in consulting, digital services and software development. Its Polish Global Delivery Center has operated in Katowice since 2007 and employs around 1,000 specialists.

Job Description

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join Sopra Steria Polska and an innovative international squad. You will help develop and optimize cloud development tools and environments used across the organization.

Cooperation is available only to people located in Poland who have EU citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Write efficient, reusable and maintainable code.
  • Participate in code reviews, SonarQube quality checks and implementation of Cosmos best practices.
  • Improve existing services and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Write unit and integration tests.
  • Use GitLab, CI/CD and scripting to automate code deployment and analysis.
  • Automate deployment, configuration and monitoring tasks.
  • Collaborate with architects, system administrators and developers.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Document code, scripts, configurations and technical processes.

Tech Stack

GitLab, CI/CD and AWS.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on AWS experience.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or CDK, and GitLab pipelines.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles.
  • Advanced software development experience with Git, Python and TypeScript.
  • Experience developing AI solutions, including agentic systems and delivery at scale.
  • Experience with developer AI tools such as Amazon Q, Kiro and Claude, coding assistants and AI agents.
  • Practical experience with VS Code or IntelliJ.
  • Service management experience, such as ITIL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • EU citizenship.
  • Fluent English at B2/C1 level.
  • Willingness to take occasional business trips abroad and visit the Katowice office.

Nice to have: AWS certifications and security clearance.
