Description

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development Korea is looking for a Development Engineer responsible for navigation guidance and map-related technologies within MBUX Navigation Systems. The role contributes to the development, validation and continuous improvement of navigation guidance functions, map data solutions and map update services for current and future MBUX systems, in collaboration with global teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Own and drive Navigation Guidance functions, including feature definition, validation, issue analysis and quality improvement.
Analyze customer feedback and system behavior to improve navigation guidance quality and user experience.
Support the analysis and resolution of navigation-related issues reported through development, testing and customer feedback activities.
Support NDS-based map data integration, validation and release activities.
Coordinate map update planning, validation and deployment with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Collaborate with global development teams, map providers and software suppliers to ensure high-quality navigation solutions.
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Vehicle Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Geographic Information, Geographic Information Science or an equivalent practical experience.
Experience in software development, navigation systems, digital maps, GIS or related technical fields.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Korean.
Valid Korean driver's license for passenger cars and eligibility for an internal driver license.

Preferred Qualifications

Agile or Scrum experience.
Experience in navigation software development or map release activities.
Knowledge of NDS and digital map technologies.
Understanding of navigation guidance concepts, route calculation and user-facing navigation features.
Experience collaborating with map data providers, automotive suppliers or global teams.
Understanding of embedded software development and navigation systems.
Experience in a multicultural working environment.
Experience in software debugging, issue analysis or system validation.
