Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Team Leads, Technical Experts, and team members across Wiring Harness & Bracket Design and Body & Comfort HiL Validation, mentoring and inspiring a diverse team while fostering accountability and high performance.
- Set clear goals, define team priorities, and conduct structured performance appraisals to drive individual and team growth.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, global partners, suppliers, and plant teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Act as the primary interface between the MBRDI team and Mercedes-Benz global counterparts, aligning expectations and commitments across all four domains.
- Drive cross-functional coordination with support functions to resolve conflicts, uphold quality standards, and maintain development momentum.
- Embed Quality Assurance processes across team deliverables through checkpoints, review gates, and corrective action mechanisms.
- Identify talent development needs, enable targeted training, and create opportunities for stretch assignments and career growth.
- Champion continuous improvement by addressing process gaps, implementing countermeasures, and embedding lessons learned.
- Encourage innovation focused on cost, weight, and functional improvements.
- Expand MBRDI’s engagement with global teams, particularly in supporting VANS programs.
Required Skills and Experience
- 15–20 years of experience in automotive product development, including significant experience in people and program leadership.
- Ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams across domains in a global, matrixed organization.
- Broad understanding of vehicle development across Wiring Harness & Bracket Design and Body & Comfort HiL Validation.
- Awareness of Quality Assurance requirements for product development and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across cultures and geographies.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence representing teams at senior leadership and partner forums.
- Experience setting organizational direction, managing performance, and building technical competency.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- PMP or equivalent Project Management certification is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Mercedes-Benz or Daimler development processes and systems, such as VDS.
- Experience working in hybrid, global teams with cross-border authority and accountability.
- Familiarity with Wiring Harness & Bracket Design or Body & Comfort HiL Validation at program oversight level.
- Exposure to ISO 26262, IATF 16949, or APQP at program governance level.
- Knowledge of German is an added advantage.
