About the role

Primark is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the rollout of data governance practices within the Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) programme. You will work with Data Owners and stakeholders across technology, retail, and supply chain functions to establish clear data ownership and accountability.

What you'll do

  • Support the rollout of data governance practices within the Smart Retail Ordering programme.
  • Develop and maintain data definitions, business glossaries, standards, and governance documentation for critical SRO data elements.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and usability of product, supplier, inventory, and ordering data through data quality management and Master Data Management practices.
  • Monitor data quality, manage data issues, conduct root cause analysis, investigate discrepancies, and perform validation and quality checks across data platforms.
  • Support data lineage and traceability initiatives for ordering, inventory, and stock management decisions.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to embed governance principles into new SRO processes and systems.
  • Deliver training and guidance to promote best practices in data management.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and data extracts, identify process enhancements, transform data analysis processes, and support governance reviews, audits, and risk management activities.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality, or data management.
  • Strong understanding of retail buying, merchandising principles, and retail, supply chain, merchandising, or operational data.
  • Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Analytical experience identifying, investigating, and resolving data quality issues.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, tact, and strong planning, organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking skills.
