COBOL Developer

We are looking for a COBOL Developer to support the maintenance and evolution of a portfolio of COBOL and Java applications within a complex information system. The role is part of a Third-Party Application Maintenance (TMA) environment focused on data quality and consistency, regulatory compliance, reliability of critical data flows, and service continuity for business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Act as the technical reference across the RFOS application landscape, ensure consistency of the hybrid COBOL/Java architecture, mentor developers, support code reviews, serve as a technical escalation point, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Development & Maintenance: Lead and contribute to corrective and evolutive maintenance activities involving daily batch import/export processing, web services, user interfaces, reference data, contracts, and nomenclature modules. Troubleshoot production incidents and reduce technical debt.
• Quality, Testing & Industrialization: Define testing strategies, secure batch processing through restart mechanisms and monitoring, improve scheduling and shell-script processes, ensure data quality and traceability, manage sensitive data flows, contribute to web service evolution, and perform technical impact analyses.
• Collaboration: Work with operations teams, testing teams, and business stakeholders. Participate in incident resolution and maintain alignment across interconnected systems and external data repositories.

• Secure critical data flows and reference data systems.
• Contribute proactively to technical and organizational improvements.
• Maintain high-quality technical, functional, and operational documentation.
