Job Overview

This role supervises consumer credit dispute investigations to ensure adherence with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Responsibilities include training, coaching and developing team members while ensuring operational and compliance targets are met, adherence to policies and regulatory standards, and correction of systemic credit-reporting errors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of credit dispute investigators, including talent selection, training, employee development, workload management and performance management, while ensuring operational targets are met.
  • Supervise the consumer credit dispute process to ensure reasonable investigations comply with FCRA and FACT Act requirements and inaccurate reporting is promptly identified and corrected.
  • Support the Legal Department with pre-litigation demands and defensive litigation related to credit disputes and FCRA claims by providing dispute summaries, investigation summaries and relevant documents.
  • Analyze dispute trends, identify and correct systemic and process-related issues, and collaborate across the organization to improve credit reporting.
  • Maintain written credit dispute procedures that comply with FACT Act accuracy and integrity requirements.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Minimum of 4 years of overall work experience.
  • Preferred experience includes business, collections, credit, customer service, management and remarketing.
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred, with recommended majors in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Experience with compliance and FCRA guidelines preferred.
  • Analytical, Microsoft Office, mainframe and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ALFA, OnPoint and FAW required; LEMANS, CASS and RMS preferred.
