Objective of Job

This position is located in the team of Chassis Integration, Tuning, Ride and Handling. The overall task is to ensure that vehicles fulfill Mercedes-Benz standards regarding overall vehicle ride and handling performance, driving behavior and driving safety for Chinese customers.

Tasks

  • Chassis tuning for steel and air suspension with adaptive damping chassis variants.
  • Vehicle ride objective and subjective evaluation.
  • Vehicle handling objective and subjective evaluation.
  • Vehicle driving safety objective and subjective evaluation.

Qualifications

  • University degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a similar engineering qualification.
  • Excellent driving, evaluation and analytical skills, including ride and handling assessment under various conditions and on high- and low-friction surfaces.
  • Familiarity with automotive or motion measurement systems and the ability to work analytically and solution-oriented using measurement devices.
  • Independent, structured and organized work behavior.
  • Graduates with initial automotive industry experience, including internships or entry-level positions, are welcome.
  • Experience with OEMs or suppliers, particularly in ride and handling testing and development, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of vehicle development processes, especially chassis development, is advantageous.
  • Experience in an international company or extended stays abroad are a plus.
  • Experience with chassis tuning at international or domestic OEMs is preferred.
  • Experience with objective ride and handling measurement systems and evaluation of results.
  • Understanding of vehicle architecture and communication systems.
  • Strong knowledge of chassis concepts, component interactions and functions.
  • Expertise in damper, bushings, FDY and ride tuning for passive and active systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to evaluate test vehicles under all ride and handling conditions.
  • Ability to detect issues, analyze root causes and evaluate system performance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and teamwork skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities, initiative and self-responsible working attitude.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Advanced knowledge of Vector tools including CANape, vFlash and CANoe.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Fluent English and Chinese language skills are mandatory; German is an advantage.
