Objective
In terms of Carline Management for the China Lead Vehicle project, you will be the key interface between the procurement function of Mercedes-Benz headquarters, DGRC and BBAC for all procurement-related topics. You will represent the Mercedes-Benz procurement team with relevant internal and external stakeholders and make procurement status transparent across cross-functional departments from timing and cost perspectives.
You will communicate with colleagues in Procurement, Program Management, Controlling, R&D, Supplier Quality and BBAC as a joint-venture partner. Car Line Management in Germany will frequently exchange knowledge and experience with you about global project information.
Major Responsibilities
- Align the localization target and strategy for the China Lead Vehicle project.
- Create the sourcing roadmap and steer sourcing activities to achieve defined project targets.
- Shape transparency about sourcing and cost status for relevant project stakeholders and Mercedes-Benz management.
Task Description
- Act as the interface between Mercedes-Benz Group China, Mercedes-Benz headquarters and BBAC for all procurement topics.
- Represent Mercedes-Benz procurement in China and Germany in relevant project meetings and workshops, collaborating with internal and external partners to provide project data on time.
- Drive and steer purchased-parts topics among R&D, cost planning, the production plant and project managers in a cross-functional and international environment.
- Lead alignment of the localization strategy and bridge Mercedes-Benz headquarters, China and BBAC.
- Create the sourcing roadmap for the localization project and track the maturity of sourcing activities from timing and cost perspectives.
- Report cost-target achievement to the project head and Mercedes-Benz management.
- Organize regular internal meetings involving senior procurement management in China to optimize procurement activities and support internal decision-making.
Qualifications
- University degree in business, economics, engineering or a similar field.
- Several years of work experience in the automotive industry or a comparable sector.
- Knowledge of automotive production processes, procurement and cost management.
- Experience with comparative cost systems, calculation and planning, and project cooperation with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in multicultural environments.
- High motivation and flexibility, with a strong ability to work independently.
- Fluent written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Problem-solving skills and team orientation.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
