The Gist
Year-round, part-time position with varied hours, typically Thursday through Sunday.
The Busser/Food Runner is responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience by ensuring that all items are clean and presentable before, during, and after Taproom service. This position supports service efficiency by assisting servers and proactively stocking side stations while representing the Lagunitas brand.
What You’ll Do
- Set up all Taproom areas throughout service hours, including restocking clean dishes and replenishing food and beverage supplies.
- Greet customers professionally and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with preparing plates by placing garnishes on appropriate food items.
- Deliver food to the correct table and confirm that the proper order is being delivered.
- Assist with expediting food orders in the kitchen when required.
- Clear dishes from tables and other areas to maintain high standards of table maintenance.
- Clean and sanitize tables and chairs and maintain cleanliness around the restaurant, including sidewalks.
- Prepare dishes for washing by scraping and stacking them according to standards.
- Clean spills, empty trash, and clean and stock restrooms as needed.
- Work with other staff to ensure guest satisfaction related to Taproom cleanliness.
- Perform duties or shifts as a server, bartender, host/greeter, or other Taproom position when required.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior bussing or food-running experience is desired.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Outgoing personality, positive attitude, strong verbal communication skills, and teamwork ethic.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
- Food Handler certificate required upon hire.
Key Relationships
Reports directly to the FOH Manager and regularly interacts with Taproom staff and employees from other departments.
Physical Requirements
Most of the shift is spent standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, and pushing. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. The environment may involve noise and temperature changes.
