Business Analyst Taxes H/F

You will play a key role in the design and functional and technical architecture of solutions, acting as the bridge between business needs and IT implementation in a hybrid environment combining Mainframe/Cobol and Java applications.

Responsibilities

• Gather, challenge, and formalise business requirements with a strong focus on solution design.
• Define functional and technical specifications, with an emphasis on architecture impacts and end-to-end consistency.
• Contribute to the definition of target solutions, application flows, interfaces, and data impacts.
• Assess the impact of new requirements on the existing application landscape, particularly Cobol and Java components.
• Work closely with development teams in Portugal and other stakeholders to ensure robust and scalable designs.
• Support testing phases, including integration testing and UAT, and help resolve defects from a design perspective.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, simplification, and optimisation of business and application processes.

Team and environment

You will join the Finance/Taxes team, composed of around 20 employees in Switzerland, and work closely with teams based in Singapore and Portugal. The role is based in Geneva and/or Lausanne in an international, demanding, and collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Six to ten years of experience in a complex environment, ideally banking or financial services.
• Experience in solution design, functional analysis, or application architecture.
• Experience translating business needs into robust, scalable, and well-structured solutions.
• Experience in the Java ecosystem, particularly in hybrid application landscapes.
• Minimum English level: B2.
• Strong understanding of application impacts, integration flows, data dependencies, and end-to-end system behaviour.
• Ability to define and document clear functional and technical specifications.
• Strong coordination, communication, synthesis, structure, and prioritisation skills.
• Interest or experience in project management and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of a Cobol/Java environment and a strong interest or experience in solution design and functional/technical architecture.
