Position: Brewing Technician

Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Function: Supply Chain – Brewing

We have an immediate requirement for a Brewing Technician based in Port Moresby, reporting to the Brewing Supervisor.

Main duties

• Work in line with HEINEKEN safety, food safety, and sustainability standards, as well as local regulations.
• Contribute to and follow the safety agenda in the Brewing department.
• Remove waste from the department premises and sustain safety tasks at the required level.
• Ensure the timely supply of raw, auxiliary, and cleaning and disinfection materials at the place of use.
• Inspect materials to ensure that quality is not compromised.
• Monitor product and process quality.
• Recognize tags and improvement opportunities and execute the related tasks.
• Execute 5S, tagging processes, and CILT, and apply problem-solving tools.
• Participate in and lead improvement teams.
• Operate and execute brewing processes on machines in line with valid standards and procedures.
• Manage documentation and reporting within the level of authority.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities and report deviations to the Brewing Shift Supervisor.
• Operate all relevant machines and processes.

Qualification and experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in the beverage industry with shop-floor operations experience.
• Experience in brewing, biotechnology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Total Production Management or related practices.
