Job Overview
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules. Support team members at Mercedes-Benz Vans building state-of-the-art vans for the American automotive market. This position is for second shift.
Responsibilities
- Master the team's work contents, including regular co-working at workstations, providing support and replacement coverage, correcting non-standard components, and supporting vans with special equipment.
- Support a frictionless workflow by checking material availability, managing disruptions, coordinating rework, supporting Q-Alarm elimination, fostering employee integration, and executing Q-Checks.
- Initiate and foster continuous improvement of the work environment, ergonomics, production process, and product quality.
- Communicate, improve, and monitor standards; coordinate absence planning, shift organization, rotation plans, qualification matrices, and team targets.
- Organize problem-solving and corrective-action processes, support Q-Stop activities, and ensure adherence to standards.
- Maintain process indicators and folders, provide material and equipment, and execute one-point lessons and quality checks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- One year of relevant experience or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Completed MBV Team Leader Training Program.
- Knowledge of Paint Shop operations.
- Knowledge of door adjustments, including front, rear, side, and hood adjustments, preferred.
- Knowledge of work scope and processes, communication, Lean/MPS, basic computer skills, organization, coordination, problem solving, and decision making.
