Body Shop Operator - Control Room

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify spot-welded joints, studs, MIG/MAG welds, sealers, adhesives, laser welds, and laser brazing across the vehicle body according to quality standards.
• Control and test the ultrasonic device and its test mode.
• Conduct special audits and ultrasonic inspections using a probe according to quality standards.
• Perform ultrasonic testing outside normal conditions in special cases.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure proper ultrasonic device function.
• Use the ultrasonic tester to analyze spot-welded joints according to the inspection plan.
• Provide expert input on establishing and modifying testing plans and parameters.
• Document, communicate, and troubleshoot unsatisfactory ultrasonic tests, determining whether physical inspection is necessary.
• Communicate daily information and relevant events during shift changes.
• Assist with teamwork organization and participate in the Continuous Improvement Program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of relevant automotive production experience, or an associate degree in a technical trade and 2 years of relevant automotive production experience.
• Extensive experience with non-destructive structural testing.
• Knowledge of sheet metal processing and data processing.
• Certified Radiographic Interpreter preferred.
• Certified Welding Inspector preferred.
• Previous spot-welding experience preferred.
