Job Description
To support RD China strategy of maximally utilizing the local ecosystem and speed up development cycles, the local EE development team provides best-fit solutions for localized Mercedes-Benz carline projects. We are looking for an experienced and passionate system integration engineer to strengthen local development and localization activities from system and component concept validation through production ramp-up and product release.
- Responsible for the build-up, operation, and maintenance of cluster HiL body comfort systems in RD China.
- Lead HiL build-up focused on China-specific systems with specialist and cross-functional teams.
- Responsible for hardware conception, test framework, and modeling of the Cluster HiL.
- Conduct continuous development validation of relevant systems and support system software release approval for vehicle testing.
- Accomplish tasks assigned by the management team.
Responsibilities
Cluster HiL setup requirement definition and management
- Clarify test demands and requirements with local system and component teams.
- Define Cluster HiL hardware and software requirements with support from RD Germany.
- Monitor and conduct competitive analysis of local HiL technologies and align findings with RD Germany.
- Build and manage the complete HiL setup with support from suppliers as needed.
Cluster HiL model development
- Define carline- and system-specific HiL models, including the test framework.
- Implement, adapt, and maintain HiL models throughout product development and lifecycle phases.
- Commission and manage the HiL model.
Test case management, execution, and troubleshooting
- Clarify system test requirements with responsible system engineers and BTVs.
- Create manual and automated system integration test cases and conduct digital validation focused on end-to-end testing.
- Execute test cases and evaluate results.
- Troubleshoot and analyze issues with system or component engineers.
- Support reproduction of system-specific field issues from vehicle tests, production, and after-sales activities to identify root causes.
- Support UI testing for relevant system features.
System release approval
Collaborate with system engineers, function owners, EE system speakers, BTVs, suppliers, carline project leads, and other stakeholders to ensure system and software approval according to the relevant release plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in automotive system engineering.
- More than 10 years of experience in the automobile industry.
- More than 5 years of experience with system or Cluster HiL at suppliers or OEMs, especially in body comfort systems such as seating and roofs.
- Advanced knowledge of the software V-cycle, including AUTOSAR, requirements engineering, software implementation, test framework setup, system modeling, and validation.
- Experience with HiL testing systems such as dSPACE SCALEXIO or Vector VT.
- Experience with test and development tools such as PROVTECH, MATLAB Simulink, Vector CANoe/CAPL/CANape, and PTA.
- Knowledge of body comfort systems, seating, roofs, and displays is preferred, together with knowledge of core components such as motors and slides.
- Good communication skills with internal and external parties.
- Good written and spoken English or German.
