Job Overview
The Associate, Operation Support is an entry-level, hands-on role designed to develop skilled technicians, painters, or body workers who contribute to the diagnosis, repair, and reconditioning of Mercedes-Benz vehicles prior to their distribution. The associate will select a specific discipline—Mechanical, Paint, or Body—and receive structured, formal training in that area.
The role supports senior members of the chosen discipline in activities required to ensure vehicles are repaired, validated, and delivered to customers on schedule and in accordance with Mercedes-Benz quality standards. This position provides an opportunity to build foundational technical skills while contributing directly to vehicle readiness, quality, and throughput.
Responsibilities
Technical Support & Execution (35%)
- Assist senior technicians with repairs, inspections, component replacements, and system diagnostics within the chosen discipline.
- Perform basic mechanical, paint, or body tasks, including removing components, preparing work areas, handling tools, and completing assigned subtasks under supervision.
- Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Document work performed according to internal processes and quality standards.
Training & Skill Development (40%)
- Participate in company-provided formal training and certification pathways.
- Maintain required training progress and demonstrate growing proficiency in technical tasks.
- Learn and apply standard operating procedures, safety practices, and technical workflows.
Vehicle Readiness & Workflow Support (25%)
- Prepare vehicles for senior technicians through staging, component cleaning, diagnostic equipment setup, and parts tagging and tracking.
- Support repair, paint, or body shop organization, inventory management, and tool upkeep.
- Assist with quality checks and post-repair validation activities as directed.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety protocols related to mechanical, paint, or body work; tooling; lifts; personal protective equipment; and hazardous materials handling.
- Immediately identify and escalate safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, environmental requirements, and work instructions.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience from professional, educational, military, or hobbyist activities.
- Prior automotive, mechanical, or technical exposure, such as trade school, apprenticeship, or shop experience, is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or diagnostic equipment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems is preferred.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn an automotive discipline.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
