The purpose of this position is to ensure effective Business Continuity Management practices are in place at CACEIS Malaysia, including the quality, efficiency and risk mitigation strategies of business continuity plans, business impact analyses, pandemic plans, offsite testing and contact exercises.
The Business Resilience Associate Director acts as Operations coordinator for crisis management activities, ensuring crises are assessed and escalated appropriately and that subsequent activities follow Crisis Management policies and protocols. The role is also the local representative for Business Continuity Management activities in CACEIS Malaysia and ensures coordination between business activities and regional representatives.
The role also ensures that Technology Infrastructure incidents are properly assessed and managed according to the Major Incident Management procedure.
What will you do?
Business Continuity Management
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Business Continuity Lifecycle at global and local country business levels and adopt the CACEIS model, governance, risk and policy framework.
- Coordinate tactical BCM activities globally, with a key focus at local country level.
- Provide support and coverage as part of the global team for events during Malaysia morning hours.
- Identify gaps in application capability requirements and work with business and IT teams to resolve them through acceptance, workarounds or enhancement projects.
- Create employee awareness of business continuity matters through communications and information sharing.
- Monitor and improve BCP key indicators and prepare management reports in line with group objectives.
- Partner with BCM second-line-of-defence teams, functional teams, regional teams and business line executives to create, coordinate and maintain a multidisciplinary Incident Management Team.
- Track outstanding audit items or regulatory findings relating to BCM and keep management informed of progress.
- Maintain working relationships with other Crisis Management Teams.
- Support business change initiatives relating to BCM, including completion of associated BIAs, BCPs and recovery testing.
Operational Resilience
- Support implementation of regulatory requirements and evolving requirements from other regulators.
Incident Management
- Facilitate P1 and P2 incidents for the entity by engaging appropriate business and technical resources and driving incidents to resolution.
Human Resources Management
- Manage the User Access Management Team.

Minimum qualifications and experience
- Relevant university degree; a relevant risk qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Preferably 6–8 years of relevant Business Continuity Management or equivalent work experience within the financial industry.
- Extensive training and/or experience with BCP and DRP methodologies.
- Comprehensive business knowledge covering structure, processes, procedures and technology.
- Minimum experience level: 6–10 years.
