We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run our exciting new Halo Store in Melbourne Central, opening soon. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for store net sales and consumer experience through staff productivity and fostering an active selling environment.
A Halo store is the pinnacle of the adidas retail experience for consumers across sales and customer service, operations, people, training and product knowledge, visual merchandising, and activation.
Purpose and overall relevance
- Drive store profitability by meeting or exceeding sales and profit targets while controlling operational expenses.
- Support the store management team by sourcing and allocating appropriate resources to provide consumers with an outstanding experience.
- Lead and inspire the store team to meet or exceed commercial goals and build brand equity.
Key responsibilities
Commercial success
- Lead, manage, and direct the Halo team to deliver sales, profit, and brand standards.
- Monitor resource allocation and organize processes to drive profitability in varied situations and market conditions.
- Use store and market data to make commercial decisions based on sound analysis and financial judgment.
Brand standards
- Communicate and demonstrate adidas brand values and the Pacific Retail Mission.
- Manage an effective, efficient, and stable retail environment while implementing adidas policies, procedures, initiatives, and strategies.
- Ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver reporting required by the District Manager and Retail Back Office.
Self-learning and talent management
- Influence business stakeholders by offering suggestions and ideas to improve operations and processes.
- Lead store HR planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and development initiatives.
- Develop succession plans and ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures.
Service and selling culture
- Coach the store management team to increase profitability through operational best practices, AREA, and a leading consumer shopping experience.
- Understand consumer behavior and patterns and coach the team to exceed consumer expectations.
- Create and drive a consumer-focused service culture.
- Implement strategic plans for seasonal brand and product training and transfer knowledge into selling skills.
- Set clear expectations and targets, analyze store performance, and hold the team accountable with appropriate feedback.
- Coach, motivate, and inspire the store management team to achieve goals and maximize individual performance.
- Lead service by example and ensure visible and effective consumer service management.
- Collaborate with peers and share best practices to support retail performance.
Knowledge, capabilities, and experience
- English spoken and written.
- Flagship or A-grade store experience.
- Competence relevant to the position.
- Excellent skills operating personal computers, POS systems, and software including Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to lead discussions in diverse groups.
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, judgment, and independent decision-making skills.
- An inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and uphold high performance standards.
