Purpose

Assist with driving your store’s profitability by:

  • Meeting or exceeding store sales and profit targets.
  • Managing resources within the store to provide customers with a leading shopping experience.
  • Driving the proper execution of established policies, procedures, initiatives, and directives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor store performance and allocate resources to drive profitability across sales and service, operations, people, or visuals.
  • Use store and market data to make commercial decisions based on sound analysis and financial judgment.
  • Support and coach the store team in operational best practices and creating a leading consumer experience.
  • Understand consumer behavior and coach the team to meet or exceed consumer expectations.
  • Create and drive a service culture centered on the consumer.
  • Communicate and demonstrate adidas Brand Values and the NAM Retail Mission.
  • Implement seasonal brand and product training and transfer knowledge into selling skills.
  • Partner with the General Manager on HR planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and succession planning.
  • Set clear expectations and targets, analyze performance, provide feedback, and manage poor performance when necessary.
  • Coach, motivate, and inspire the store team to accomplish store goals.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead service by example and ensure effective consumer service management.
  • Collaborate with peers and share best practices to support District team performance.
  • Take advantage of opportunities for personal development and increased performance.

Knowledge, Capabilities, and Experience

  • Competence in operating personal computers, POS systems, Microsoft Office, and related software.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements and store KPIs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and maintain high performance standards.
  • Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically by car and air.
  • Ability to work extended periods, typically 10–12 hours per day, during peak seasonal periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college or university degree in business, retail management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of retail experience, including a minimum of 18 months of store management experience.
  • Experience managing a high-level retail image and delivering an in-store consumer experience.
  • Geographical mobility is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
