Job Overview

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules. Support team members at Mercedes-Benz Vans building state-of-the-art vans for the American automotive market. This position is for 2nd shift.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct and participate in team and group meetings.
  • Support vehicle assembly at the assigned workstation on a moving assembly line by following defined procedures.
  • Assist with minor products or components within routine and highly repetitive assembly operations.
  • Help transport necessary materials and parts to designated areas of the assembly line.
  • Perform basic equipment adjustments and routine maintenance.
  • Clean and maintain the work area as needed.
  • Work according to established trade and shop practices and defined procedures.
  • Complete and ensure availability of appropriate production documentation.
  • Work under close supervision.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Technical Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Master work responsibilities and regularly work at the production stations.
  • Provide relief and support for minimally qualified team members.
  • Provide short-term replacement during scheduled or unscheduled temporary absences according to regulations.
  • Identify and remove components that do not meet defined standards.
  • Support vans with special equipment.
  • Function as a utility person and replacement.
  • Support the team in maintaining a frictionless workflow.
  • Control material availability and check installation when necessary.
  • Support resolution of team-internal cooperation problems.
  • Report disruptions and organize disruption management.

Qualifications

  • Completed MBV Team Leader Training Program.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of experience.
