We have an immediate opening for an Assembly Intern position. Reporting to the Assembly Manager, the Assembly Intern supports factory planning and engineering and helps ensure that the ongoing plant expansion runs smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Assist Trim, Chassis, End-of-Line, and Quality Assurance areas in production.
- Document processes and conduct feasibility analyses for optimization projects.
- Optimize daily processes with new ideas and maintain detailed schedules.
- Coordinate project steps with plant operations.
- Read and interpret drawings when needed.
- Assist with and lead meetings, take meeting minutes, and edit KPIs.
- Optimize production-line processes and improve quality transparency by creating dashboards.
- Conduct time studies, analyze bottlenecks, and develop process-improvement ideas.
- Plan projects using Microsoft Planner.
- Implement time studies and poka-yoke solutions.
- Assist the department and other areas as needed.
Skills
- Preferred studies in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with information systems, lean manufacturing methodologies, OEE, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Power BI, related software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interest in process optimization and problem-solving.
Qualifications
Applicants must have graduated within the past 12 months or currently be working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field.
Learning Objective
This internship gives current students experience with real-world organizational issues and insight into factory planning and engineering processes. Interns will work with experienced engineering team members and gain exposure to all levels of the organization.
