Working closely with system hardware and software architects, you will define next-generation product features based on marketing requirements. You will be supported by modeling and implementation experts to ensure solution performance and cost.
This position is based at one of Atos/Bull's research and development centers in Les Clayes-sous-Bois or Bruyères-le-Châtel in the Île-de-France region, or in Grenoble or Sophia Antipolis.
Responsibilities
- Analyze AI and HPC use-case requirements, bottlenecks, technology trends, and the competitive landscape.
- Propose features that optimize HPC application performance on supercomputer clusters using high-performance networks.
- Lead innovation in RDMA-based technologies for Ethernet or HPC beyond the state of the art.
- Create innovative, highly competitive, and efficient solutions to customer problems within technological and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare performance projections and cost assessments to support decision-making throughout the project.
- Provide clear, effective, and high-quality architecture specification documents.
- Lead the architecture quality-assurance process.
- Work closely with RTL design, verification, and software teams to optimize the solution.
- Support the development team throughout the ASIC design flow.
- Collaborate with European research centers and startups to define next-generation interconnect technologies.
Profile
- Master's degree or PhD from an engineering school or university.
- More than five years of hardware development experience, preferably in an HPC or datacenter context.
- Strong knowledge of large-scale and distributed workloads such as AI training and scientific simulation.
- Proven experience creating simple and efficient architectures that solve customer problems.
- Knowledge or experience in Ethernet, InfiniBand, IP networks, parallel and distributed applications, x86/RISC-V/ARM server architecture, high-speed interfaces, HPC or Ethernet network administration and monitoring, or RTL design.
- Practical ability to create a demonstrator, prototype, or executable specification using SystemC, C, C++, or Python.
- Excellent communication skills for different audiences, including RTL designers, verification engineers, software developers, researchers, and marketing teams.
- Innovative, rigorous, analytical, autonomous, and collaborative.
- Fluent English; French is a plus.
