NIKE, Inc. is seeking an undergraduate intern to join its Artificial Intelligence, Data and Machine Learning Group. The team develops fundamental technologies, conducts applied research and development, and delivers production solutions to enable AI and machine learning across Nike.

The ideal candidate is interested in developing complex data solutions and working on end-to-end solution design. This role involves applying statistical, unsupervised, supervised, and artificial intelligence models to solve organizational challenges.

What You’ll Experience

During NIKE, Inc.’s 10-week Summer Internship Program, you’ll contribute to high-priority business initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic roadmap. With guidance from senior leaders and experienced managers, you’ll own a scoped project designed to build critical thinking, develop skills, foster collaboration, and contribute directly to team goals.

Example projects include:

  • Integrating machine learning into Nike technologies to identify and resolve incidents faster.
  • Using computer vision, code, agile methodologies, and robotics to support innovation and sustainability goals.
  • Using artificial intelligence to help ensure equitable access to Nike technology for people with disabilities.

This is a 10-week paid internship opportunity with relocation assistance.

What You Will Bring

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
  • Background in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field.
  • 0–2 years of work experience.
  • Resume submission, with PDF strongly preferred.

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning techniques such as neural networks, tree ensembles, and regressions.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, solution and technical design, problem solving, debugging, testing, and analysis.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.

Preferred technical skills:

  • Interest in using Generative AI to enhance development and data science workflows or implement Generative AI solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Awareness of data science platforms such as Databricks or SageMaker, distributed engines such as Spark and AWS cloud, and CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics meaningfully in written, oral, and visual formats and explain solution benefits and tradeoffs.
